Lib Dem backs Diabetes campaign

Local parliamentary candidate Graham Oakes is adding his support to Diabetes UK,s campaign to improve NHS healthcare for people living with diabetes in South Dorset.

"1.8 million people suffer from diabetes in Britain and possibly as many people again may be undiagnosed. Diabetes can lead to other problems including blindness, kidney failure heart disease and stroke. To tackle diabetes effectively we must take action early."

"We must provide:

Free eye tests annually for all diabetics

Improved education for sufferers

All children with diabetes to be provided with access to local, high quality, specialist care."
