Lib Dem vote

Graham Oakes (Lib Dem Candidate, South Dorset) commenting on the initial results of whoshouldyouvotefor.com, which show that 43% of users 'should' vote Liberal Democrat based on the policy choices they made, despite only 29% expecting a Liberal Democrat outcome, said:

"This poll shows the huge amount of support the public has for Liberal Democrat policies across all issues and reflects what I have found on the doorstep.‰

"The more people learn about our policies for families, students and young people, and the elderly, the better we will do in South Dorset."

"Policies such as axing the unfair Council Tax, scrapping student tuition and top-up fees, and pledging 10,000 extra police mean that the Liberal Democrats are the real alternative for many voters."

"Our support is rising as the campaign goes on, with the number of people pledging to support us at its highest level for years, but the potential vote is huge.‰

"Many residents see this as a straight fight between the Tories and Labour but would like to vote for us. Last year we beat both of them across South Dorset in the local elections, this year we are providing a positive alternative.‰
