Free Prescriptions Pledge By Lib Dems

10.26.52am GMT Tue 15th Mar 2005

Graham Oakes, Lib Dem PPC and a Nurse, has welcomed the Lib Dem pledge on providing free prescriptions for people with chronic conditions.

Graham commented "The present situation is a farce. People with diabetes get their drugs free, whilst people suffering from Cystic Fibrosis and Multiple Sclerosis do not!"

Health campaigners the King's Fund welcomed the Lib Dems' prescription charge pledge, saying the existing system was illogical and penalised poorer patients.
